Firefox 0.9 has been released

Download Firefox 0.9. Never before have I really felt so strongly about a single product as I do about Firefox. It's almost lame. If I was famous I would be offering to endorse this product. Too bad my days as the cinnamon guy didn't make me a superstar. I have been using Firefox/Mozilla since [still trying to locate date/blog entry], I think Firefox (which was then called Phoenix) was in version 0.4. And even then it rock my browsing world.
And apparently I am not the only one, according to recent browser statistics Mozilla now commands over 11% of the browser market share (up from 4.6% last May). Go Moz go!
My personal must have extensions:
Magpie 3.11
Web Developer 0.8
Image Zoomer (unknown if Firefox 0.9 compatible yet - used this a lot with previous versions so I hope so)

Hey, I downloaded Firefox yesterday to give it a go. Unfortunately, it doesn't display one of my favorite websites very well at all. > Is there something I can do to make it look better?

What? I thought FHM site worked fine... actually, what site are you referring to?

Part of the problem is that IE is A) Built to allow custom mark-up that is not approved HTML spec B) Built to allow sloppy coding but still work.

So it becomes common pratice for web developers to code sloppy, non spec code - which in turn renders fine in IE... and they don't care or don't even have a clue about standards compliant browsers like Mozilla, Safari, etc...

So in some cases, there is nothing that YOU can do. It is up to the web developer to re-code their site to meet HTML specs.

I went to the site the next day and it looked much better for some reason. Anyway, how do I open windows in multi-tabs again?
I am not completely sold on Moz yet, but I am going to give it some time, based solely on your superstar endorsement.

OK. On topic for once. I am liking Moz a lot right now. I, with out any hands-on help, just made TWO (2) freaking keywords for my browser.
DC is for dictionary.com
MW is for Merriam-Webster.com
All I do is copy a word I don't know, or need the pronunciation (MW), and I hit cntl+t and type MW (word) and in the new tab, I get the MW return for that word! I love it.
What else is cool Erik?

NOTE: I realize that many reader of this blog are much more technically advanced to be excited over my new found skillz. Please bear with me. I too was once the most technically skilled person around, but then my school's only and 386 powered computer was replaced during 5th grade. 20 years later, I have yet to catch up.

So another cool thing to try out: Create a Bookmark folder like "Blogs" - then add a few (3+) bookmarks into that folder. Then using the menu at the top: Bookmarks > Blogs > Open in Tabs.... blam-o all the bookmarks in the folder now open in tabs. I use this 20+ times a day almost... I have: Daily Blogs, Friends Sites, More Blogs, Tech Blog, Waste My Time, News Site, Bit Torrent Sites, Web Comics, etc etc. I also have a folder I store all my keyword searches in.

Other than that - I would reference the outdated - but still usefull 101 things that the Mozilla browser can do that IE cannot page. I don't use all of these, but reading through you might learn a thing or two you didn't know.
