In DC for CFUNITED
This week I am in Washington DC for
CFUNITED, a
ColdFusion conference. This is my 1st year at the conference and the word on the street is that it's a better conference then
MAX is as far as ColdFusion goes. I am hoping this proves true, as I have gone to MAX for the past 4 years and I have always been happy, so if this is even better than thats an awesome deal. I have to give massive props to my good buddy
Nate for letting me stay at his place with him while I am here.
Nacho Libre Soundtrack Missing
This past weekend we traveled some 800 miles (round trip) to visit with friends and see
Nacho Libre together. The trip was awesome and we loved the movie. I wanted to re-live the movie and I figured what better way than by getting the soundtrack to the movie. But nope, so far Paramount Pictures has not decided to release the soundtrack.
Some searching shows that people are
making an effort to push for the release of an official soundtrack, and in the mean time cataloging their own "Un-Official Nacho Libre Soundtrack" list.
Here is the list so far from what I gather:
"Religious Man" by Mr. Loco (with additional music added by Danny Elfman)
"Bubblegum" by Mr. Loco
"Mr. Loco" by Mr. Loco
"Papas" by Mr. Loco
"Saint Behind the Glass" by Los Lobos
"Mucha Muchacha" by Esquivel
"Bat Macumba" by Gil Gilberto (or maybe Os Mutantes)
"Irene" by Caetano Veloso
"E-Pro" by Beck
"Forbidden Nector" by Jack Black
I will update this more as I find stuff. In the mean time, check out the
Nacho Libre soundboard, which includes one of my favorites of the movie when Nacho signs his letter "ooxxooXoXXx".

uploaded it to my Flickr account.
News.com's "What's Hot" Story Board

A recent visit to
News.com to read an article related to a
House vote on "Net neutrality" showed off a very cool feature the site offers. On the site's sidebar running down the right side of a story, along with many ads and sponsored links, you might be lucky enough to see a large "WHAT'S HOT" table that displays squares with a stories inside of varying sizes related to how popular that story is at the moment.
In the age where I mostly visit
Digg.com and
del.icio.us/popular to get the group consensus telling me what I should be interested in reading about, it's a no-brainer that I need a table like this to outline the most popular stories visually for me.
While I understand that this feature is nothing more than a
tag cloud, I am still impressed by it's use here.
At the time of writing this, I can't get the News.com site to show me the "WHAT'S HOT" table, so I can only assume that it only displays during certain times of the day (maybe when traffic is heavy and they can easily gauge what is popular), or maybe they were just experimenting with it. I was so impressed when I originally saw it, I grabbed
a screen shot, so you can all see what I am talking about.
News.com, I for one, definitely approve and hope you keep this around.
