Microcosm Bands Unite!
Many years ago my wife (then girlfriend) and I start a local record label feature ska/punk bands from the Orange County, CA area. All the bands have pretty much split up and stop playing (Note: This may/may not apply to CNR). Well, three of the bands are playing in a reunion show on New Years Day 2004 at the House of Blues Anaheim. I moved away from So Cal, but I just ordered a ticket on-line for memories sake.

iTunes released for Windows
I love the
download form Apple uses for users to fill out to download iTunes. Email Address, First Name, and Last Name... all optional info. All the newsletters and "I want you to contact me" checkboxes are all unchecked by default. This is where user's hearts are won over, IMHO.
The Matrix *Will* Exist
The Wachowski Brothers are intent on the Matrix becoming a reality. They are creating
The Matrix Online, a
MMORPG where in a sense, you will live a life inside of the Matrix. If you aren't sure what a MMORPG is, think Everquest, Asheron's Call, or The Sims Online. It's a game where you create a digital character that will live within an on-line digital environment simultaneously with thousands of other players, where you can interact and explore. You have to purchase the game, and then usually pay a per month fee for the service of playing the game (game must be played on-line connected to servers maintained by the game company). In most MMORPG's you are forced to join forces with other player to accomplish some objectives that cannot do done by one player alone.
Everquest has a reputation of breaking up families because players usually put so much time into the game they neglect their real life responsibilities. People will sell their high-level character and game items on eBay for cash (this might have been banned by eBay).
This isn't the first MMORPG base off a movie franchise, there is Star Wars Galaxies. This game was released sometime around June, and within 2 months had 250,000 registered users, and from what I heard recently, no one has yet to achieve "Jedi" status in the game.

SWK - A New Hope
Back in May I posted a link to the original Star Wars Kid video that was circulating the web. Well tonight
Nathan sent me a link to one of the newer "remixes" of the video... this is the only one that has made me laugh out-loud (as did the original).
Check it out...
Revolutions Desktop Wallpapers
I love making my own desktop wallpaper images. And of course with the release of Matrix Revolutions approaching... I wanted to make myself a nice Matrix themed desktop. While I was capturing some still frames from the latest trailer I thought, "hey... others might want these too, and I can save them some time". So I took 20 high-res still frames (1024 x 532 pixels), and made them all available for
download.
Tech specs: I downloaded the Ultra size trailer from the office site. Then using Adobe Premiere's export frame feature I captured the stills I wanted. Then zipped them up.
Revolutions' "Zero Hour" Release
Warner Bros
announced that Matrix Revolutions will open
"at the exact same moment in time in every major city around the world on November 5". They are calling this a "Zero Hour" simultaneous opening.
This unprecedented distribution scenario will make the highly anticipated film available to fans simultaneously at 6 a.m. in Los Angeles, 9 a.m. in New York, 2 p.m. in London, 5 p.m. in Moscow, 11 p.m. in Tokyo and at corresponding times in over 50 additional countries worldwide.
And to make it even better, Revolutions will also be released on the IMAX on 11.05 as well. This is also the first time a major Hollywood film has been concurrently released in 35mm and IMAX format.
I recently saw Matrix Reloaded on IMAX, and I definately want to see Revolutions on IMAX when I see it. I found the detail amazine, and actually enjoyed the movie better than my original viewing.
Also, you can now download the Revolutions trailer in
Ultra Size. And new posters are also available on the
official web site.
